I'm a newly-minted technical writer who works for Canary Systems, Inc. in New London, New Hampshire. I'm combining the skills I learned in my undergraduate and graduate education with learning proprietary software on the job, and implementing workflows to ensure user-friendly documentation is released on time. In addition, I build the help files and write scripts and storyboards for video tutorials for our software. I'm looking for new ideas to implement at Canary Systems, particularly a reliable CMS so that their information can be easily accessed and output into multiple forms for readers.

In addition, I'm vice president of the STC New England Chapter and the STC Board of Directors' Student Liaison. I want to introduce STC to a new generation of technical writers and communicators so they can have a reliable network of colleagues and peers to call upon so they can confidently transition from students to professionals. I started reaching out to my graduate alma mater, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, this past fall, but I'm looking for new ideas on how to reach out to and attract students to the STC.
